Automan piston compressors Automan AC31-10E200T
Our piston air compressor range is designed to provide a reliable source of compressed air for all users. Our piston compressor portfolio ranges from small belt-driven and direct-drive compressors for repair jobs, with outputs ranging from 0.6 to 15 kW, to larger professional and semi-industrial designs made of aluminum and cast iron pistons.
How does a piston compressor work?
A piston air compressor is the oldest and most common type of compressor. Its mechanism works as follows:
Piston compressors essentially consist of a valve system and two valve discs. When the piston moves down, it draws air into the cylinder. One of the valve discs folds downward, allowing air to pass through. When the piston moves up, the larger disc also folds upward and closes. The compressed air is then sent to the final process. This mechanism is essentially the same as that of a small combustion engine, such as those used in automobiles.
Why choose a piston compressor?
Choosing a piston compressor offers many advantages to your business. First, these compressors are low in cost. Other advantages of piston compressors include their ease of control, operation, and portability.
Piston compressors are primarily used in applications where a large amount of compressed air is not needed and/or is only needed occasionally (for example, in a repair shop). They are also noisier, making them less suitable for use in environments like dentist's offices or laboratories.
